There is an adorable kitty curled up on my bed right now.  Yes, we have a cat!  We found her outside in the bushes on the 4th of July...poor thing was so hungry that when I put out some food she came right up to it and didn't even notice me picking her up.  My roommate kept the food tin in front of her face the whole time, haha.

She is tiny and has the loudest purr motor I have ever heard from a cat that size.  She has no name yet, because roommate and I are both moving out at the end of July (roommate to Peru, me to grad school) so our friends down the street are gonna keep her.  They have not seen fit to name her yet.  So for now I call her kitty and snRNP.

Friend from home is visiting again.  Saturday was her 21st bday (nummy drinks!)  This week has been food galore.  Do all normal people eat this much?

Two of D's friends are getting married (to each other) August 7.  He is a groomsman and has invited me as his +1.  I need a dress for this.  I need to be thinner!  I cannot go the way I am right now!

D and I have been working out together.  At least we were before the conference and L's visit.  And we will be again after L's visit.  We do cardio and strength and then we take long walks.  The long walks are my favorite part (and his too) because we get to talk.  He says he feels like he gets to know me so much better.

I am taking L home today and spending the night at my parent's.  Auuuughhhh kill me now.  :/

The conference was AWESOME.  I met so many people!  I shook hands with one of my idols!  I dissected goldfish to find the Weberian apparatus!  I attended a gazillion talks!  (One of which was about elasmobranch sex.  Yes, complete with video.  I have officially become a shark porn watcher.)

And I didn't get to check Blogger for over a week and I almost died.  I admit it.  I'm addicted.  (I'm addicted to yoooouuuu...does anyone else remember that song?  It was kinda catchy, but then the radio stations played it so much that I got sick of it.)

SBB (I'm linking to you here, darling, so I won't list you in my addicts, even though you know I live and breathe for my next dose of you) gave me a lovely Addict award, so here I am passing it along.  Plus some more details about me.  Woo, aren't we all excited?

Five likes:
1. Fish.  Fish fish fishy fish fish.  Watching them, reading about them, dissecting them.
2.  The ocean in general.  And the beach.  Waves and sand and rocky tidepools and happiness.
3.  Fuzzy things.  Such as this kitten now asleep on my pillow.  (I need to post some photos of her!  Seriously, she is the CUTEST munchkin!)
4.  Books.  I read constantly.
5.  Music.  Listening to it and playing it.  I play clarinet, love Weber and Mendelssohn.  I listen to a huge variety of music.  Very eclectic tastes.  My iPod has music from Mahler to Nightwish, from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Lady Gaga (don't laugh!), from Bodyjar to Sara Bareilles.

Five dislikes:
1.  Conflict.  I hate hate hate when people fight.  It makes me very anxious.
2.  My body.  So cliche but so true.
3.  When you've been planning something and got it all worked out and then something throws a wrench in the process.  So frustrating!
4.  Water up the nose.  Worst feeling ever.
5.  Being late to anything.  I am a chronically early person and always arrive ahead of time.  Otherwise I stress out like mad.
